Despicable Me gives new meaning to “reach for the moon”!

Despicable Me, released on July 9th, 2010 is a computer-animated 3-D feature film from Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment.  Kids and Adults alike are loving this fun, humor filled, super villian movie.  This Halloween, dressing up in a Despicable Me costume like Gru, Vector, Agnes or a hilarious naughty Minion just might be the best costume idea to add humor to your trick or treating.

Gru, the World’s #1 Super Villian or is that #2 Super Villian, plans the biggest heist in world history…stealing the Moon!  After discovering that his rival, Vector, has stolen the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt and his #1 Super Villian Title, Gru begins to plan the biggest heist ever.

A little low on funds to complete his plan, Gru tries to get a loan from the local Bank of Evil.  Surprisingly, he was turned down until he obtains the shrink ray needed for the plan.  He accomplishes stealing a shrink ray with the help of his army of Minions.  However, Vector steals it from him.

While trying fiercely to get into Vector’s lair to steal the shrink ray back, he notices three orphan girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes get into his lair.  Gru realizes he needs to use the girls to get into Vector’s lair and get the shrink ray back, so he adopts them.  Although, his plan didn’t include actually bonding with the girls, was Super Villian turning into Super Dad?

Gru finally accomplishes his long awaited plan to steal the moon!  However, when he returns to earth, he realizes the girls had been kidnapped by Vector.  He hands over the Moon in trade for the girls, only to find Vector running away with them into space.

In the end, the effects of the shrink ray begin to wear off, causing the Moon to grow.  Gru and his minions rescue the girls when the pod traveling to space busts open, releasing the girls.  Vector’s pod goes out of control and is shot into outer space.

Gru and the girls live as a happy family.  While Vector is stranded on the Moon, which is back in outer space where it belongs!

The voices of “Despicable Me” were performed by some familiar actors and actresses.  They did a great job at making this a fun, character rich movie for children and adults.  I bet many viewers have caught themselves using different quotes and singing songs from the movie.
